Gnomeo and Juliet is an animated film based (loosely, of course) on Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
From the movie:
In Stratford-Upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, Miss Capulet and Mr. Montague feud over whose garden is the better. Garden gnomes that decorate each neighbor’s flower beds continue the rivalry when the humans aren’t looking, and gnomes from the Red Gardens don’t get along with those of the Blue Gardens. Then Gnomeo (James McAvoy), a Blue, and Juliet (Emily Blunt), a Red, fall in love, leaving many obstacles to overcome.

Since the release of the first Gnomeo & Juliet in 2011, there is a new addition to the gnomes movie: Gnomeo & Juliet 2 called Sherlock Gnomes (2018).
In Sherlock Gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet find out that their gnome friends and family are disappearing all over London. To help solve the crimes, Gnomeo and Juliet enlist the help of Sherlock Gnomes.
This Gnomeo and Juliet cast includes Johnny Depp (as Sherlock Gnomes) and Mary J. Blige (as Sherlock Gnome’s ex-girlfriend), along with James McAvoy Emily Blunt (as Gnomeo and Juliet).
(Did you know that Elton John is on of the movie producers? So cooL!)
