Before we get to the list of free printables, let’s talk about more maths ideas for kids learning ideas. You don’t have to stick to math work sheets for learning math! There are many different ways to incorporate fun math activities into your learning!
What are some fun math activities?
Math Scavenger Hunt: Create a scavenger hunt where students solve math problems or find objects related to specific mathematical concepts or operations.
Math Board Games: Play math-themed board games like Pay Day, Monopoly, Quoridor, Settlers of Catan, Prime Climb, or Blokus that involve strategic thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical calculations. This is our favorite way to learn math! (We love this math game!)

Math Puzzles: Solve math puzzles like Sudoku, which promote logical reasoning and number manipulation skills. Or, even working on putting together regular tabletop puzzles helps with strategic thinking math skills.
Math Art Projects: Combine math and art by creating geometric designs or making origami that incorporate mathematical concepts like symmetry, angles, or patterns.
Math Storytelling: Encourage students to create math stories or word problems that involve real-life scenarios, challenging their problem-solving abilities.
Math Relay Races: Divide students into teams and set up a relay race where they solve math problems at different stations before heading to the next station. It’s like a math minute to win it competition!
Math Outdoor Activities: Take math learning outside by engaging in measurement activities, estimating distances, making maps of the neighborhood, or identifying shapes and patterns in nature.
Math Cooking/Baking: Cooking or baking activities are great ways to practice math! They require measurement, conversions, addition / subtraction, fractions, and more. We started early with my daughter cooking and baking (like 2 years old!) and I really think it helped her with math later on!
Math Manipulative Play: Utilize math manipulatives like blocks, pattern blocks, dice, or Tangrams to explore mathematical concepts hands-on and visually.
Math Technology Games: Don’t be afraid to use online math games and educational apps that make learning math interactive and engaging, such as Prodigy. (My daughter loved Prodigy for years!) We also used Osmo Pizza for quick-thinking math games that are fun!
