The Holiday Left Right Center Game (or LRC) is a hilarious Christmas party group game with dice that you can play as an alternative to a white elephant gift exchange.
You can also play it with candy canes that can be exchanged for prizes for a kids’ game, or even dollar bills if you need adult party games, teen party games, Friendmas ideas, or even fun family games for New Year’s Eve.
Holiday Left Right Center Game with Dice
Xmas LRC is a fun, fast-paced dice Christmas party game that’s perfect for family gatherings, holiday parties, and Christmas celebrations!
It’s easy to learn, works for all ages from kids to teen games for parties or family games for Christmas Eve. This group game can be played with dollar bills, candy, or small wrapped gifts.
What is the LRC dice game for Christmas?
The left right center game for Christmas party is a popular holiday party game and isn’t always played as a holiday dice gift exchange game.
It is sometimes played with a story where players exchange gifts whenever they hear left, right, or center in the story, but you can also play with dice as a gift dice game / pass the present dice game with dice.
Some people play it with the traditional LEFT-CENTER-RIGHT game dice (LCR), but we play it with regular game dice that we had at home. (I just took red and green ones out of different games to stick with a Christmas theme.)

Left Right Center Game Supplies
To play the Holiday LRC game, you’ll need:
- One dice
- A pie plate or paper plate to roll the dice in (optional, but great for a large group so the dice doesn’t keep falling off the table)
- One small gift or prize per person, plus a couple of extra gifts to put in the center to start
If guests are bringing gifts or prizes, be sure to set a dollar amount limit, like no more than $5 or $10 for each gift. (Sometimes the cheaper the gift, the more people love that funny item!)
If you are having an adults only Xmas party, teen party, or a Merry Friendsmas friend Christmas party, you can also play with dollar bills for a money LRC game (and people LOVED this, we put two five dollar bills in the center to start).
If you have kids, you can also play with Christmas candy for a kids’ party!

What are the Christmas Left, Right, Center Game Rules?
You can make any rules you like, but here’s an example of roll the dice gift exchange game that we use to play this holiday game.
How to Play the LRC Game for Christmas with Dice (left right center game rules):
1. Have everyone sit around a table where it’s easier to roll a die and pass prizes.
Set a number of rounds.
For example, everyone will roll twice before the game ends.
PARTY GAME TIP: The smaller the group, the more rounds you may want to make the game last longer.
2. Everyone starts with one random gift or a gift they brought in front of them.
We usually just put them all in a big bag and have everyone draw a gift out before the game begins. That way most people won’t know what they have (unless they draw their own gift).
Place 1-2 extra prizes in the middle of the table.
3. Follow these roll rules:
- Roll a 1, everyone passes a gift right.
- Roll a 2, everyone passes a gift two to the right.
- Roll a 3, everyone passes a gift left.
- Roll a 4, everyone passes a gift two to the left.
- Roll a 5, the roller picks a gift from the center (if no gifts in center, they lose a turn).
- Roll a 6, the roller puts one gift in the center.
I made these rules up, so you can just use them as a game guide and make your own.
4. The game ends when everyone has rolled the number of completed rounds.
Players get to keep and unwrap the gifts that they have in front of them once the Christmas game ends (unless you’re going to play again).
GAME PLAY TIP: We always play that if there is still a gift in the center at the end of the rounds, the person who doesn’t have a gift gets that one.
